The message I was hoping to share through my art was the importance of proper hygiene and protection against COVID-19, regardless of age. I wanted to make my piece straightforward and very simple so that anyone would be able to understand it. The main focus of my work is a mother, father, or guardian helping a child wash their hands and doing their part in educating the child about the steps we can take by ourselves to prevent the spread of the virus. While younger children may not be fully aware of the purpose of these protocols, I felt that as older civilians we are obliged to teach them the importance of this; not only for their own health, but for the health of others in the community. In this way, we can all do our part together to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
